Dear Parents,

The first Class Information Evenings were held between 07-10 October 2008. Gence Preschool thanks all parents for their attendance to the meetings. We wish to have a more fruitful cooperation with our parents now that we, the Gence family, know each other better. We wish that you had pleasure and had the chance to understand what our aims and philosophy are while educating your children. For the parents who could not be with us during the meetings and as a review who were with us is attached the brief of the meeting.

THANK YOU

We would like to thank all of you for the food you have sent in for our Ramadan and Harvest table. You can be sure that all the food you have sent is given to the poor before Ramadan Bayram.

The books have been delivered to our school. You can have information about their prices and the delivery conditions from the Reception desk.

NURSERY RHYMES AND CHANTS

For the lyrics and/or CDs of the nursery rhymes and chants, you can always contact your childs teacher. We would again want to mention the importance of nursery rhymes and chants in language teaching as they are full of repetition and rhythm.

LABELLING

Please do not forget to put name tags/labels on your childs clothes with a permanent pen. Nearly all children have the same brand name underwear. Although we pay maximum attention not to mix up, sometimes it becomes confusing to sort out the clothes. Especially outdoor clothes and ballet costumes.

HEALTH

We would like to remind that our doctor is coming to school every THURSDAY to check all our children.

And we would like to highlight again; when you send in medicine, please do not forget or hesitate to fill in the form and label the bottles. On the labels do not forget to write the proper dosage and time. It is important for your child to receive the proper dosage on time.

You can download the Over the Counter Medication Form from our web-site under the title of Illness.

COMMUNICATION

As we mentioned at Class Information Evenings, the communication notebook is not only for the teachers to pass information to you, but also for parents to inform us about the child. So, if you would like to ask any questions or inform us about the situation at home, like not having a good night sleep or quarrels between you and your child, do not hesitate to write in the communication notebooks. It is important for the teachers to overcome the moodiness of the child as she will be aware of the situation.

ALL AROUND THE WORLD: ENGLAND

All Around the World is a 10 month Project which makes your child get to know first about the world and then some of the countries in the world. This is a beneficial project because it is important for your child to know about different races, cultures and traditions.

This months country is England so we will be glad if you can sent in any materials, such as brochures, little souvenirs, recipes, games or anything you think would be useful, related to England.

HALLOWEEN PARTY

We will be celebrating Halloween on 31st October, Friday. Before our celebration your child will be preparing lots of Arts & Crafts work about Halloween. So, when you come to school you may see bats, spiders and different Halloween decoration all around.

For the Halloween Party, we would like your cooperation for the accessories and/or costumes. You will be informed about the party and the costumes/accessories once more just before Halloween.

USEFUL WEB-SITES

Each month you will be informed about one or more web-site/s. From some of them will benefit as a parent and from others, your child will develop his/her various skills and enjoy.

This months web-sites are:

www.crickweb.co.uk

www.qca.org.uk/eara/59.asp

LAST WORD

We would like to remind you that you will be receiving the newsletter in this format for the last time. Novembers Newsletter will be sent to you via e-mail. Please do not forget to check if we have your e-mail contact.
